Tame animals as a hunter:
Equip the skill book the man gives you. After that, upgrade the skill by pressing B then upgrading it to as many skill points as you have. Drag the Tame skill to a number (for example, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9). At the bottom right of the screen is a button. Click it then click the auto/manual attack button. It is on manual when there is only one sword. Then attack "preferable" a black wolf with a weapon until its health (which you can view by highlighting the red bar under its name) is about half gone. Switch to your fists and weaken it to about 15-10 HP. Right-click the skill "Tame". This sometimes will not work. The HP remaining differs with the animal you are trying to tame.
